Melodie Arian is an associate in the firm’s Houston office, specializing in complex commercial litigation.  She has extensive experience in a variety of legal areas, including employment, contract disputes, and business torts in both federal and state court. Her clients value the diversity of perspective she brings to cases by virtue of her personal and legal background, her proactive nature, and her commitment to anticipating challenges and developing strategic responses.

Melodie joined the firm following her clerkship at the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, one of the busiest districts in the nation. Prior to clerking, Melodie was an associate at a boutique litigation firm in California, where she gained extensive experience in representing small businesses and employees in employment and business disputes.

During law school, Melodie served as a Marshall Brennan Fellow, a literacy project designed to mobilize talented upper-level law students to teach courses on constitutional law and juvenile justice in underserved public high schools. She also served as a student attorney with the Yale Law School’s International Human Rights Law and Immigration Law Clinics, where she represented asylum seekers before administrative agencies. In addition, she competed on the International Criminal Court Moot team as both a brief writer and as an oral advocate.

Melodie is a cum laude graduate of American University Washington College of Law and a proud UCLA Bruin. She is licensed to practice in California, New York, and the District of Columbia and is fluent in Farsi and French and conversational in Spanish.

Outside the office, Melodie enjoys spending time with her puppy, traveling, boxing, and wine tasting.

*Melodie is not yet licensed in Texas, so any work she performs on Texas cases is done at the direction and under the supervision of licensed Texas attorneys.
