Cassie earned her undergraduate degree in International Business from the University of Denver, graduating summa cum laude. She received her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center, where she graduated cum laude and held multiple leadership roles, including Chief Casenotes and Comments Editor for the Houston Journal of International Law and Executive Director of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team. Those roles sharpened her ability to evaluate legal issues from multiple angles and reinforced the importance of precision, judgment, and strategic problem-solving.

Before joining McDowell Hetherington, Cassie practiced as an associate in the energy litigation group at a large international firm, where she was involved in numerous trials and handled a wide range of complex business disputes. In addition to her commercial litigation practice, Cassie worked as part of her former firm’s national security team. In that role, she led internal investigations and regularly assisted clients with voluntary self-disclosures to government agencies, navigating sensitive regulatory and compliance issues that required discretion, coordination, and a deep understanding of risk assessment.

Cassie now represents clients across a range of industries, including energy, manufacturing, refining, and insurance. Her practice draws on her background in high-stakes litigation and regulatory matters, allowing her to evaluate disputes with an eye toward both legal exposure and practical business considerations. Based in the firm’s Houston office, Cassie brings a steady, analytical approach to each matter, whether positioning a case for resolution or preparing it for trial.

Cassie spends most of her time outside the office, outside. She enjoys cycling, trail running, skiing, and gardening in her free time. She also enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and dog (Gigi).
