Emily is an effective advocate with demonstrated experience in complex commercial disputes and financial services litigation.

Her experience includes matters in state and federal court involving welfare benefit and defined benefit pension plans, cost of insurance provisions in life insurance policies, and ERISA litigation.

A Native Hawaiian, Emily attended SMU Dedman School of Law where she was an active moot court competitor, winning the 2015 Thomas Tang National Moot Court Competition and earning recognition for both oral and written advocacy in several other national competitions. Emily was inducted into the National Order of Barristers and named to the SMU Pro Bono Honor Roll. As an undergraduate student, she studied abroad in Northern Ireland, Kenya, Cameroon, and Zambia.

Prior to joining MH, Emily gained valuable litigation experience as a law clerk to the Honorable Hal R. Ray, Jr. in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
