MH Wins Unanimous Jury Trial Verdict in Harris County
October 21, 2025
Case StudiesFollowing a week-long trial, a Harris County jury delivered a swift and decisive verdict in favor of MH’s client.
The dispute involved a breach of a common-law partnership agreement to establish a business. Despite the absence of a written agreement, as the terms were only verbally agreed upon, the opposing party violated this oral agreement by opening the business and retaining all benefits. MH’s client – the plaintiff – filed the initial lawsuit and defended against subsequent counterclaims.
Ultimately, the jury rendered a unanimous verdict in favor of MH’s client, effectively overcoming deep-rooted perceptions about the necessity of written agreements. It also awarded MH’s client the exact amount requested, including attorneys’ fees and punitive damages.
“After four years of litigation, we’re proud the jury restored our client’s investment,” said MH partner Will Thomas.
Trying the case before Harris County Judge Nicole V. Perdue were Mr. Thomas and associate Jaclyn Jiral.
