Alexa J. Kleinberg is an associate in McDowell Hetherington’s South Florida office, focusing on representing multinational insurance companies in complex and specialized litigation, including first-party property defense, third-party liability matters, and corporate general liability cases. Ms. Kleinberg also has experience preparing insurance coverage opinions and litigating cases relating to personal injury matters, condo association and HOA matters, and employment-related cases (wage and hour, sexual harassment, and employment discrimination). Ms. Kleinberg has extensive experience handling virtually all phases of litigation from pretrial dispute resolution through mediation to trial preparation.

Before joining McDowell Hetherington, Ms. Kleinberg gained valuable experience working at litigation boutiques in Coral Gables and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and at the Office of the State Attorney, 17th Judicial Circuit, Florida.

Ms. Kleinberg earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Management with honors from the University of Arizona. While earning her degree, Ms. Kleinberg served as an advocate for students with disabilities and was directly involved in changing campus policy. Ms. Kleinberg obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Nova Southeastern Sheppard Broad College of Law, where she served as president for the First Generation Professionals Legal Society and was a member and advocate of Nova’s Trial Association.

Ms. Kleinberg is a beach lover and enjoys cooking, community service, and spending quality time with her family, dog, and friends.
