Augustus “Gus” Talkington is an associate in the firm’s Northern California office where his practice centers on commercial, product defect, and personal injury litigation. Prior to starting as an associate, Gus worked as a summer associate at McDowell Hetherington and spent a summer clerking for a federal judge in the Northern District of Texas.

Gus received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law where he graduated with honors in 2023. In law school, Gus was the deputy chair of the Board of Advocates where he planned advocacy events for aspiring litigators. Gus also actively participated in the school’s nationally recognized mock trial program. Upon graduation, Gus was awarded the Niemann Cup, the award for the top advocate in the graduating class and was inducted into the Order of Barristers. Also while in law school, Gus was an advanced student practitioner in the Criminal Defense Clinic and served as a notes editor for the Review of Litigation, receiving an outstanding staff editor award.

In his free time, Gus is an avid fencer and passionately roots for the Oklahoma Sooners. He also loves going to dine-in movie theaters with his wife and is a proud gold movie pass member at Alamo Drafthouse.
